Comic Timing – Episode 161: NYCC 2014 Con Wrap-Up

DSC09710

Well, the New York Comic Con has come and gone once again. Time to talk about it in depth! Kris and Ian do just that, and a virtual bag of chips. Topics include swag obtained, cosplay seen, how the floor plan has changed over the years, some gripes that occurred over the weekend, how Javits North is the only place worth going to the bathroom, panels attended, and more! And more includes Ian’s experience at the Marvel Digital Comics Unlimited Plus panel, where he got to see a bunch of stuff you guys won’t see for a few more months! Hint: Peggy likes to dance, Ant-Man is tiny, and ULTRON HAS NO STRINGS.

Comic Timing Extra Point – Episode 11: Gotham and Constantine

gotham
Time for a timely Extra Point! Ian is joined by Kris as they give a spoiler-filled review of both FOX’s Gotham and NBC’s Constantine pilot. As usual, we go over what worked and what needs improvement, the characters of both series and where they begin their journey, how the fracturing of DC’s television properties could wind up hurting more than helping in the long run, the pain of forcing references to the comics into a show *WINK*, Batman’s dead parents, and how Gotham is a lot more Smallville than it is Arrow. Oh, and Kris has quick rant about Star Wars: Scoundrels, by Timothy Zahn.
