Episode 19 time!

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Thu 26 Jan 2006 9:34 pm

Hey all. Well, the new semester has begun, and with the new semester comes a new Geekspeak! Near the end of the show I was lucky enough to be joined by my buddy Bryan, who might be making more appearances on the show in the next couple of weeks, but we shall see. This epsidoe was recorded at the Brooklyn College Radio Studio on Thursday, January 26th, 2006. Topics discussed include:

  • Symantec stoops to Sony’s level, while the Zone Alarm Suite might not be sending data back to headquarters. Oh what a web we weave…
  • An e-mail from Sean Webb from about previous Geekspeak episodes and where to find them. All episodes not on itunes can be found at the Geekspeak home page.
  • Star Trek: New Voyages is going where no fan has gone before…finishing the original five year mission!
  • WB + UPN = CW. Will it work?
  • Move over Nintendo DS, here comes the sleaker, more compact DS Lite!
  • We’ve heard nothing from the PS3 camp lately. Is it even close to finished? Kotaku says to expect it by the holiday season of 2006. Will that be too late to combat the combined efforts of the Revolution and the 360?
  • Spider-Man 3 will have a familiar face! Good idea, bad idea, or eh idea?
  • The Wind Up: Kobe Bryant’s amazing performance, and of course, Superbowl picks!

I’m sure you’re all as glad as I am to have a Geekspeak back in the studio, and you should expect this to be the norm for many episodes to come. I’m alos working on getting a better microphone for home recording to make the transition between studio and bedroom a bit easier in the future.

Also, you can hear me on the latest episode of Comic Geek Speak, which is their giant Episode 100 celebration! And there’s even a video that you can get through their itunes feed that has me in it, for those of you who want to know what i look like (on a bad hair day).

Remember to send all your questions and comments to speakgeekspeak@gmail.com, and you can head to the forums if you so desire. And remember, Podcast Alley voting is only a click away and all. 😉

Thanks again to Bryan for joining me near the end there, enjoy the happy bloopers, and until next time, thanks for downloading!

It’s late, I’m late (should be in bed by now), so no news post today. Not much to report anyway. Here’s Episode 18 courtesy of my USB microphone at my home. Geekspeak officially returns to its normal Thursday slot next week as that’s when I’m back at school. We discuss my Panasonic 42″ Plasma TV, my new HP vs17 LCD monitor, and Underworld: Evolution on this episode. E-mails go to speakgeekspeak@gmail.com, and I live in a giant bucket. Enjoy!

Geekspeak Episode 16: Hello 2006!

Blogged by Ian Levenstein as Uncategorized — Ian Levenstein Fri 6 Jan 2006 12:10 am

Hey there loyal listeners! The first Geekspeak of 2006 has arrived, and this one is a doozy. Episode 16 goes through my bests, worsts, and “Ehhs” of 2005. This spans through the world of technology, gaming, comics, retro gaming, and sports. The list is pretty varied, and has a couple of shockers on there that might lead some people to a “wtf mate?” or two. This episode was recorded on Thursday, January 5th, 2006 at the Brooklyn College Radio Studio.

The previous paragraph pretty much explains it all, so I’ll leave you folks to download and listen and see what you think of the list. The e-mail address for Geekspeak is speakgeekspeak@gmail.com, so send any questions, comments, or lists of your own over my way, and don’t forget to vote for Geekspeak on Podcast Alley, as it is a new month and all. We’ll be back next week with another episode. Until then, thanks a bunch for downloading, and enjoy the beginning of a brand new year! 2006 should be fun. I’m looking forward to it.
