Comic Timing – Episode 87

We are back, and bigger than a bread box! Or something like that. This week we are joined once again by Shawn Pryor of PKD Media, as well as returning guest Al Sparrow of Thugs, and newcomer Eric Peterson, to discuss independent comics! We run the gambit, discussing everything from why we buy to why we don’t, and everywhere in between. We also discuss the changing distribution climate, and where the industry might be going over the next few years. It’s fun discussion not to be missed!

  1. Hey guys, I wanted to let you know I just started to get into listening to podcasts and blogging after receiving an mp3 player for my birthday which, led me back to comics. I haven’t read very many comics because, I’ve never been in a place where I was exposed to them so I’m a late bloomer but, come to find out that I’ve missed out on a lot! I’ve been listening to a lot of podcasts on comics trying to find a great one to get. You guys are by far the best!! I just listened to episode 87. I’ve learned a lot and you guys made me laugh my butt off!! Being new to comics I was wondering if you could do a show on comic book terminology or sometimes explain terms as you go. I’m sure there are a lot of people that might come across your show who are rookies like me. For example: it took me a while in the show to get what you guys were talking about with Diamonds and Previews. Also, could you settle for me the definition of graphic novels. I’ve seen so many defs that I don’t get it. I also love that you guys don’t freak out about how long the show is!! The longer the better, I say. Thanks guys!!
