Comic Timing Episode 291 – Jack Kirby and the Psychedelicatessen

On an absolutely gorgeous Sunday afternoon in New York City, Gold Team unites in full! Ian, Chris, Murd and Shane gathered in Union Square Park after a long day of fellowship to discuss their trip to the Center for Jewish History to check out The Jack Kirby Way: How a Boy From the Lower East Side Became the King of Comics, an exhibit displaying a variety of Kirby’s works that runs until November 30th, 2026. They also took a look at Psychedelicatessen: A Powerful Dose of Art by Steve Marcus while there, which had some incredibly amazing puns, Yiddish comic strips based off the Fabulous Furry Freak Brothers, and mighty trippy artwork. Then, a trip to Forbidden Planet NYC, The Strand, some non-spoilery thoughts on Marvel’s latest record-breaking movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day. a bit of SDCC news, and more!
